Gateway Open Player Write-Ups 

Play9Sports hosted the Gateway Open last weekend, there were some players that lit up the tournament like a fireworks show. 

17u – Nolan Jaworowski – Rawlings Tigers 

Nolan starred last week, as he made a tangible impact in almost every game he played. He recorded an RBI in every single game except for one, and he had at least one hit in four of his six games. His strongest performances included a 3-3 outing with two doubles. He ended the tournament with a bang, as he finished 2-3 with a home run. Nolan is a 6”5,” 220 lb first baseman who is committed to Cincinnati to play for the Bearcats.

16u – Logan DeClue – STL Gamers 

Logan excelled at the Gateway Open, producing almost every chance he got for the STL Gamers. He got in base in every single game. He started the tournament with back-to-back games with multiple RBI. Later in the tournament, he blasted a home run, showing off his power in addition to his contact abilities shown throughout the tournament. Logan is a rising junior who has positional versatility as he can play in both the middle infield and the outfield. 

15u – Blake Hollrah – Rawlings Tigers 

Blake was the standout player in the 15U tournament, as he exhibited his ability to both hit and pitch at the tournament. In every game he was a hitter, he reached base in every contest. He started out with an exceptional performance in Game 1, recording four RBI including a home run. Two games later, he took the mound and threw five shutout innings. Blake is a rising sophomore and can play all over the diamond as a catcher, first baseman, third baseman, and a pitcher.
